Term 2

Welcome back to term 2, I hope everyone had a restful holiday and are refreshed and ready to get back into learning.

This term our topic is Electricity. We will be doing experiments with circuits using wires, batteries, light bulbs and some slightly unexpected things like balloons and lemons! Watch this space for photos of our experiments.

 We have finally planted our vegetable garden and are already surprised at the speed the plants are growing! Having a vegetable garden is teaching us to respect our environment and appreciate where our vegetables come from.

 For maths we are looking at geometry and will be working with 2D and 3D shapes. We will also get the chance to make 3D shapes.

 As always reading and writing are continuing. Reading groups are needs based so will be looking at a mixture of comprehension, inference, reading with fluency, and looking at word blends. For writing we are maintaining explanation writing throughout the term whilst looking a a range of text types like poems, narratives, and reports.

 Homework is going out each Monday and is due back the following Monday. If it is brought back three times in a row prizes will be awarded!
