Te Reo in Classrooms
Nga Mihi nui kia koutou katoa i te tau hou, nau mai haere mai!
Kia Ora ko Isabel Katene- Hurst ahau, no Ngapuhi me Te Arawa oku iwi, e noho ana ahau kei Avondale. E mahi ana ahau ki o tatou tamariki Te Reo Maori i tenei tau.
Greetings to one and all, my name is Isabel Katene- Hurst and this year my role has changed where I am teaching the children of Avondale Primary Te Reo Maori 3 days of the week.
Your child/ren will be learning proununciation of vowels, listening to sounds of words, commands, greetings, days of the week/ months of the year, and most importantly introducing themselves and their whanau to everyone.
I ask that all parents ask their children what they have learnt in their Te Reo lessons and get them to teach you, you never know you may remember some things and you can teach them too! Our tamariki have learnt quickly and they are enjoying the 'Reo' which means we are enjoying what we are learning. Keep watching with what else lies ahead for the year.
Nga mihi aroha kia koutou katoa, hei konei...
Mrs Hurst
